Mod Post. Grrrrr look how scary I am. [08 Jun 2007|09:40pm]
winterweathered
So, the show has started (yay!) and is as delightfully cheesy as we all hoped it would be, complete with whitewhitewhite teeth and popped collars and anonymous internet creepiness.

Here's the thing, though.  When a new show starts - especially one like Hidden Palms, which isn't exactly going to be a ratings monster - it always takes a little while for people to get into it and start writing.  So making posts asking "Why isn't anybody writing yet?!?!" is definitely not going to help.  In fact, it's probably just going to piss people off enough to make them take this community off their friends pages.  Then nobody will be writing at all and that would be tragic.

I know we're all anxious for fun fic to start popping up all over the place.  My first suggestion, as always, is to write it yourself.  But we're not all writers, obviously - so your next option is to post things here that might inspire people to write that porn you're waiting on.  Feel free to make a discussion post about Cliff/Eddie or post a Cliff/Johnny picspam.  That's all totally cool and fun and I'd love to see more of it.

However, beingothrwrldly , silk_knickers , and I (dontyouwaitup ) will be deleting any posts that don't have actual content other than to nag people to write.  I think most of the community will agree that they're kind of not helpful at all.

Feel free to comment with any suggestions for the comm you might have - we're not actually Nazis.

Cool.

(P.S. Cliff and Eddie were totally doing it.)

Well, I had this idea for a fic.  It was going to be a Cliff/Johnny, but told through the point of view of Liza, the crazy garage girl.  In my head, Greta kept bitching about being left out, and so I decided that Liza should end up with Greta, you know?  Like the girl that everyong ignores, ends up putting everyone back together.  Greta wasn't really happy with this.  She was all, "What am I, a consolation prize?  I was there from the beginning."  She wasn't exactly wrong.   I ended up cutting out the Cliff/Johnny, as they became extraneous, thanks to GRETA and how she has to take over EVERYTHING, God forbid ANYTHING not be about her.

Title: I believe in your words, and your eyes.
Author: Lea
Pairing: Liza (garage girl)/Greta
Rating: I'd say PG-13, but thats overestimating a little.  I could probably get away with PG.
Summary: Liza reflects on the past.
Note: I don't own it, semi spoilery for the pilot.  Title and cut text from Matt Nathanson's "Illusions"  It comes to maybe 500 words.   Constructive criticism is love.

( so in the end, its not just you, with your memories and your scars )

Fic: I Shivered in those Solitudes [05 Jun 2006|10:06pm]

Title: I Shivered in those Solitudes
Author: silk_knickers
Fandom: Hidden Palms
Pairing: Cliff/Johnny
Rating: NC-17
Spoilers: For the pilot, clearly
Disclaimer: Characters belong to Kevin Williamson and the CW, and they probably wouldn't do this on the show. Title from Ode to Salt by Pablo Neruda, because that's what google gave me for "desert" and "Neruda."

( Cliff knows how to get what he wants. )

Title: it is the hour of departure oh abandoned one
Author: Cam
Pairing: Everyone. I hate giving everything away in the header.
Rating: Um. PG-13? I SUCK AT THIS.
Summary: Johnny is good at reading people.
Note: Not mine.  Still not airing on television, so obviously there are spoilers for the pilot.  Title and quotes from "A Song of Despair" by Pablo Neruda, which is my second favorite Neruda poem. (The best is "If You Forget Me.") Also, there are ghosts.

The memory of you emerges from the night around me. )
